Tet holiday may last for 9 days In this file photo foreigners are seen in an area of A recent proposal to extend the upcoming Tet (lunar New Year) holiday to 9 days from 7 days made by Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang has been submitted to the government. If the draft paper is approved, people will have nine days off from January 28th to February 5th, 2014. The minister said the proposal is aimed at reducing the shortage of bus, train, and flight tickets as well as cut down on traffic jams and accidents in big cities such as Thang added that people would have more time to plan on spending for Tet and would prevent a sharp rise in food and good prices prior to Tet’s Eve as seen in previous years.
