Director of Police in Quang Ninh Province arrested the director and two key staffs of 29 Hanoi Import-Export JSC Company, the producer of alcohol that recently caused six deaths. Recent tests on some samples taken from the batch the victims drank showed that the alcohol had a methanol content 2,000 times above the acceptable levels. According to Vuong’s statement, the incidents occurred because the company mistakenly used industrial ethanol for the making of the drink. Medical experts said industrial ethanol contains impurities and could cause serious health concerns including blindness and death.
